Lamanai "Submerged crocodile" a pre-classical to post classical ceremonial center that survived the transitions of social, political and cultural developments still lies quietly under the canopy of Belize's jungle. The tour starts with a scenic ride through the country-side travelling north of Belize. Arriving at the docks of the new river; you then board your vessel for 25 miles south-west on another nature safari ride of wild-life to the archaeological site.
Once, at the site you are served lunch and refreshing drinks. Your adventure starts with a hike through the jungles walking the path as the Mayas did many centuries ago. One gets to be awed by the magnificent history and structures that still stand in time by an ancient civilization. After, hiking above the magnificent buildings and enjoying the rich history you make a final visit to the museum that is on site. Throughout your tour you have refreshing drinks to cool you off; right back to your final destination for the day.
Start, with an hour drive to Orange Walk, then an hour boat ride to the Mayan site. You, then have lunch; thereafter you start your tour which would be about two hours, visit the museum and some shopping time. After, your tour an hour boat ride back to Orange Walk and then an hour drive back to the city.
Meeting Location + Tour Duration
Meeting location: You will be met at your hotel lobby if you're staying in the city; if arriving from the islands you be picked-up at the water taxi terminal or municipal airport. Guests from the cruise ship will be meet at the exit of terminal #4.
End location: You will be returned at your hotel in the city; guests from the island will be returned back to the water taxi terminal or airport and guests from the cruise ship will be returned to the entrance of terminal #1.
